Brotherly Love

Ann: Sorry I missed your call, Pam. I was on the other line with Cathy. She’d just had one of those “Mom Moments” that you and I used to have all the time.

Pam: Well it’s good to hear we’ve passed the torch. What happened?

Ann: Little Charlie just came home from his first sleep-over. He walked into the house and without a word walked over and punched his older brother in the nose!

Pam: You’re kidding! Why?

Ann: It took a bit of time for Cathy to figure it out, but she finally got Charlie to tell her why he did it.

Pam: And?

Ann: For his whole life, whenever he was allowed to have a cookie, Charlie relied on his older brother to reach the cookie jar way up on the counter. It was a real brother to brother tradition…a bonding.

Pam: Yeah, Charlie’s still a little guy. I saw his brother get his juice off the counter for him last time I was over there. It’s very sweet.

Ann: Apparently at the sleep-over Charlie was dared to eat a dog biscuit and he did. I guess the taste was pretty familiar. Charlie figured out that for his entire life his big brother had been giving him dog treats instead of cookies!
